Panthers roll over Apaches
August 25th 2006 -
In game one the Panthers looked a little off. It was not so in game two of their young season. Eastbrook got off to a fast start scoring three touchdowns in the each of the first two quarters.

Eastbrook took control of the game early in the first quarter. After forcing the Apaches to punt the Panthers quickly capitalized with a Quintyn Tuterow 11-yard touchdown run making the score 7-0.

On the next possession Eastbrook would hold Wabash deep in its own territory. Cody Younce would find room and block the punt into the endzone where Craig Martin would recover it putting the Panthers up 14-0.
Wabash would once again give the ball back to the Panthers this time Marc Miller would take it around the end from 28-yards out and Eastbrook was up 21-0.

The second quarter would bring much of the same. Strong defense would continue to give the Panthers good field position. Nathan Felver would hook-up with Anthony Adamson on a 44-yard pass play making the score 28-0. Tuterow would finish the first half scoring with two more scoring runs one from 60-yards out the other from 3-yards out.

The second half kick-off went to Eastbrook. Blake Barajas would add a 33-yard scoring run and that would be it for the first team. The back-ups would come in and keep the ball moving though as Clay Jones and Brandon Kirby would add touchdowns making the final score 55-0.

Offensively the Panthers would total just over 400 yards for the evening. Defensively they did not give up over 100 yards.

Leading the defensive charge was Tim Shirar and Kevin Fenstermaker with 8 and 7 tackles each. Barajas added his fourth interception of this season. Clay Jones and Mark Springer would each add a fumble recovery.

Eastbrook is now 2-0 on the season. This week will be the beginning of the conference schedule. The Panthers will travel to county rival Mississnewa to try and reclaim the "Milk Can".
