Panthers take down Tigers

September 22nd 2006 - Eastbrook got back on the winning trail by defeating Alexandria 47-6. The game got off to a bad start for the visiting Panthers. On the first play from scrimmage the Tiger quarterback raced 68-yards on the option keeper to put Alexandria up 6-0.
Eastbrook would strike back quickly. The kickoff return gave the Panthers great field position. Blake Barajas took the first play 38-yards to tie the score. Phil Wood tacked on the extra point and Eastbrook led 7-6.
The rest of the game would be turned into the Quintyn Tuterow show. Tuterow would add two scores before the half on runs of 5 and 49-yards to giving the Panthers a 20-6 lead going into the half.
The second half would see the Panther offense come out with an improved effort. Marc Miller would score the first touchdown of the second half on a 37 yard counter play.
Tuterow would add two more scores in the second half on runs of 49 and 12-yards to give the Panthers a commanding 40-6 lead.
Wayne Gipson would round out the scoring in the fourth quarter with a 29-yard run making the final score 47-6.
After the rough start the Panther defense only allowed 115 yards total for the night. While the Panther offense rolled up 429 total yards. The Panthers also forced 2 fumbles and an interception.
Marc Miller and Kevin Fenstermaker led the defensive charge with 10 tackles each. Miller also added a sack to his totals.
Eastbrook will go home next week for a homecoming match-up with Blackford. |
