Eastbrook rolls over Elwood
October 6th 2006 -

Eastbrook has been waiting for this game all season.  A combination of great offense, defense, and special teams led to a sound 64-12 beating of Elwood.  It all started early and often for the Panthers.  After an early three and out for the defense the offense went to work quickly.  Marc Miller would finish off the first drive with a 2-yard run to put the Panthers up 7-0.

The rest of the first half was much the same.  The defense dominated the high powered Elwood offense.  Eastbrook's defense held Elwood to just 35 total first half yards.  Mean while the offense turned it on.  Eastbrook scored on all six of its first half possessions.  Miller would add two touchdowns, one rushing and one through the air from Nathan Felver.  Blake Barajas would add two touchdowns on the ground and Quintyn Tuterow would add the final offensive touchdown of the first half.  The defense would put the final points up of the first half forcing a fumble that would be picked up and run back by Ryan Boucher making the halftime score 49-0.

The first teamers would finish off a great night on offense scoring on the first possession after the half to take the score to 56-0.  The rest of the night would belong to the second team.  Defensively the young Panthers gave up two scores to Elwood.  Offensively they would add one by Corbin Buckler.

Eastbrook racked up 460 yards of offense for the night.  Ten different Panthers go a chance to carry the ball.  the defense may have been the big story in this one.  They put the offense in good field position all night.  They held high scoring offense to 153 yards on the night.  They were able to hold one of the best running backs in the conference to under 60 yards.  Last week he had over 350 yards.

This was a big game for the Panthers.  It was a complete game the team had been working for.  Congratulations also goes to Coach Adamson for winning his 150th game.

The Panthers will travel next week to take on high scoring Madison-Grant.  This is the last regular season game.

If you have not been paying attention Eastbrook drew Bluffton in the first round of the playoffs at Bluffton.
