Panthers cruise to victory

September 21st 2007 - Class 3A No. 5 Eastbrook put the pedal to the metal on the first kickoff and never looked back. Eastbrook cruised to an easy 61-14 homecoming victory over Alexandria improving to 5-1 overall and 4-0 in the conference.
Eastbrook caused a fumble on the opening kickoff and scored three plays later on a Blake Barajas 1 yd carry. Eastbrook would score on its first 7 possessions of the half. Barajas would add two more scores in the first quarter. Once on a 54 yd pass and another on a 13 yd run. Marc Miller would also add to the first quarter total with a 28 yd scoring strike from Nathan Felver. The first quarter would end 27-0.
Felver would continue his solid night connecting in the second quarter with Jimmy Michael and once again to Miller. Miller would finish off the first half scoring taking a punt back 63 yards for a score and a halftime score of 48-0. That would be it from the Panther starters.
The second team saw all of the second half action for the Panthers. George Kilgren finished off the first drive of the third quarter with a 1 yard run. Jeremiah Carder would finish the Panther scoring in the fourth quarter with a 43 yard scamper.
The Tigers would get on the board twice in the fourth quarter on passes to make the final 61-14.
