On a fourth down play the Falcons dug deep in the bag of tricks and complete a flea flicker to cut the deficit to 21-12 before the half. No scoring would happen in the third quarter as both defenses would take over. In the fourth Kirkpatrick would finish off the Falcons plunging in from three yards out. Kirkpatrick set up the touchdown after catching a screen pass on third and long to keep the drive alive. The second half would belong to the Panther defense.
