Panthers Remain Undefeated

September 16th 2011 - Eastbrook moved to 5-0 overall and 3-0 in the conference with a 57-3 victory over Blackford. The Panthers got off to a quick start this week and never looked back. Eastbrook’s defense had its best showing of the year holding the Bruins under 100 yards total offense and just six yards rushing. It took the Panthers just 9 plays of offense to go up 21-0 in the first quarter. Jacob Singer would connect with Shaun Dmyszewicz on a 7 yard pass and with Gavin Pearson for a 21 yard score. Pearson would also rush for two touchdowns in the first quarter. At the end of one the Panthers would lead 28-0. The Panthers would increase the lead to 42-0 in the second quarter this time on a run from Austin Simison. Singer would find AJ Alexander from 15 yards out for his third passing touchdown of the night. Blackford would get on the scoreboard just before half with a 26 yard field goal and a halftime score of 42-3. The third quarter would see Heath Brooksher score to take the lead to 49-0. The Panthers would then empty the benches the rest of the way out. Alex Campbell scored his first varsity touchdown in the fourth quarter for the final of 57-3. Kyle Martin had his usual game at linebacker collecting 8 tackles and 1 for loss. Dmyszeqicz also had a big game collecting 8 tackles many of which came on a stellar night of special teams work. Chandler Horn also had his best night defensively with 7 stops and 1 for loss. Tom Roush also turned in 7 tackles and 1 for loss. The Panthers will next play the Panthers of Elwood. They are coming of a 57-27 loss to Madison-Grant. The game will be played at Elwood starting at 7:00.
