Panthers Topple Frankton

The Panther offense was almost as hot as the weather carrying the to a 66-7 CIC victory over Frankton. The win starts the Panthers off to a 1-0 start as they seek to defend their CIC title. Six different Panthers put the ball in the endzone. Gavin Pearson led the rushing attack going for just over 300 yards and 2 touchdowns. Pearson also had the only catch on the evening turning that into a 56 yard touchdown. Jacob Singer was second in rushing with 72 yards and two touchdown. Austin Simison, Bronc Gipson, Cody Nagy, and Zach Adamson also tallied touchdowns for the Panthers. This was the second time on the young season that the Panthers have managed to rush for over 550 yards. It was also the second time they total over 600 as a team. Eastbrook got off to a quick start scoring twice on their first two possessions. Mistakes would set in after that slowing the Panthers down. They would still go one to a 28-0 lead at the half. Eastbrook would finish the game quickly in the third quarter. The second and third teams would continue to pour on the points to get to the final of 66-7. Defensively the Panthers were lead by nose tackle Tom Roush. Roush had 12 tackles and 2 for loss. He completely stuffed the middle of the field. Pearson also had a double digit night with 10 tackles and 2 for loss. Kyle Martin turned in another steady night with 9 stops. The Panthers will next return home to face Alexandria. Alexandria will come in with a 2-1 record and a 42-24 win over Elwood. Game time is set for 7:00. | |||
