| Panthers cruise to Homecoming win |
|
September 12th 2008 - It was a game that the Panthers needed. Eastbrook dominated both sides of the ball on way to routing Frankton 45-0.
Eastbrook used a strong running game to amass 340 yards rushing. While the defense allowed only 50 yards total offense in the game.
Colton Benedict got the Panthers going early with a 51 yard run to put the Panthers up 7-0.
The Panther defense played its best ball of the young season. This would set up the Panthers in good field position often in the first half.
The Panthers big play offense would strike again this time from Derrick Case. Case would go 47 yards on and option keeper to put the Panthers up 13-0.
Eastbrook would stretch its lead in the second quarter with Phil Wood connecting on a 28 yard field goal and Case finding Kurtis Brooksher for a 23 yard scoring strike. The Panthers would go into the half leading 22-0.
The extended Homecoming halftime would not slow the Panthers down. Senior wide reciever Collin Thompson added to the excitement being crowned homecoming king.
The third quarter turned into the Jeremy Porter-Jones show. Jeremy would add to the Panthers lead with two touchdown runs of 40 and 3 yards.
Micah Brooks would put the finishing touches on the game and a final score of 45-0.
Lost in all of the points was the defense that allowed only one first down in the first half. Frankton only got across midfield once. They started a drive at the 49 yardline and promptly lost yards.
The Panthers look to continue that momentum as they take on Alexandria next week in the CIC day at Ball State. The game will start at 4:00.
