September 7th 2007 - The Panther offense is built around running the ball. Friday night saw a tremendous running attack in a 38-10 win over Oak Hill. The Panthers controlled the line of scrimmage in posting 375 yards of rushing offense. The Panthers got on the board first when Marc Miller took the ball and outraced the Oak Hill defenders 83-yards for a touchdown. Phil Wood tacked on the extra point and the score was 7-0. The Panther defense would force a punt on Oak Hill’s next possession. This time the Panthers would grind out an 11 play drive covering 77 yards. Nathan Felver would sneak in the final two yards. The extra point would make it 14-0. Oak Hill would draw closer in the second quarter. A touchdown by Adam Middlesworth would draw the Golden Eagles to within 7. Oak Hill and Eastbrook would exchange field goals before the half to make the score 17-10. The Panthers would come out in the third quarter and finish the job. Quintyn Tuterow would finish a drive with a 36-yard carry to pay dirt and a 24-10 lead. After an Oak Hill fumble Blake Barajas would finish a short drive with a 1-yard touchdown run. The Panthers would force another fumble on the next possession. This time Felver would connect with Miller for a 21-yard scoring strike and the final score of 38-10. The win was very satisfying for the Panthers after their 21-14 loss last season. The win also brought the Conference traveling milk can back to the possession of the Panthers. Eastbrook will go on the road next week to Frankton. Game time is 7:00.
