Panthers Defeat Indians

August 31st 2007 - Eastbrook got back on the winning side of things this week with a 28-7 victory over Mississinewa. The Panthers offense changed its pattern by getting off to a quick start this week. Eastbrook recovered a fumble on Mississinewa’s second possession. Ten plays later Marc Miller would finish the drive from 9 yards out. Phil Wood added the extra point for and earlier 7-0 lead. The Panther defense would hold for a three and out on the next possession. This time it would only take four plays before Blake Barajas would run 27 yards and make the score 14-0. The defense put together another strong first half performance limiting the Indians to just 60 total yards. The second half would start with a bang for the Panthers. Jeremy Porter-Jones would take the opening kickoff and dash 82 yards and a 21-0 lead. Jordan Hatfield would finish the scoring earlier in the 4th quarter. Hatfield would step between an option pitch forcing a fumble that he would return 5 yards and a touchdown. Mississinewa would put their score on the board in the 4th quarter. Conner Cunningham would put together a nice drive ending in a 14 yard run and the final score of 28-7. Eastbrook will next play the Oak Hill at home. Game time is set for 7:00.
