Panthers Defeat Indians
August 31st 2007 -

Eastbrook got back on the winning side of things this week with a 28-7 victory over Mississinewa.

The Panthers offense changed its pattern by getting off to a quick start this week.  Eastbrook recovered a fumble on Mississinewa’s second possession.  Ten plays later Marc Miller would finish the drive from 9 yards out.  Phil Wood added the extra point for and earlier 7-0 lead.

The Panther defense would hold for a three and out on the next possession.  This time it would only take four plays before Blake Barajas would run 27 yards and make the score 14-0.

The defense put together another strong first half performance limiting the Indians to just 60 total yards.

The second half would start with a bang for the Panthers.  Jeremy Porter-Jones would take the opening kickoff and dash 82 yards and a 21-0 lead.

Jordan Hatfield would finish the scoring earlier in the 4th quarter.  Hatfield would step between an option pitch forcing a fumble that he would return 5 yards and a touchdown.

Mississinewa would put their score on the board in the 4th quarter.  Conner Cunningham would put together a nice drive ending in a 14 yard run and the final score of 28-7.

Eastbrook will next play the Oak Hill at home.  Game time is set for 7:00.
