Panthers claim CIC
October 5th 2007 -
Eastbrook claimed the CIC championship with a 28-12 win over Elwood.  The game was a story of two halves.  Eastbrook claimed the first half with dominating effort claiming a 28-0 halftime lead.

Eastbrook continued its pattern of quick starts.  The defense forced Elwood to punt on its first possession.  Eastbrook's offense would move 80 yards in ten plays.  Marc Miller would cap the drive off with 2 yard run to make the score 7-0.

Elwood would fumble the ball on its first play in the second drive.  One play later Miller would find Jimmy Michael in the back of the endzone off a halfback pass for a 14-0 lead.

Miller would continue his strong first half in the second quarter take the ball 73 yards for his second touchdown and a 21-0 lead.  Miller would score again near the end of the half this time from 5 yards out to make the halftime score 28-0.

The second half would see a different Panther team become the aggressor.  Elwood would get its running game in high gear after a slow first half.  Elwood would put two touchdowns on the board in the third quarter tightening the game to 28-12.

The fourth quarter would see Eastbrook's defense tighten things down to preserve the 28-12 victory.

The victory gave Eastbrook the outright CIC title.  They will next play at home for senior night against county rival Madison-Grant.  Kickoff is set for 7:00.
